Danny Morrison seeks Pakistan's honorary citizenship

Former New Zealand cricketer and famous commentator Danny Morrison has also expressed his wish to become Pakistan’s honorary citizen.

While talking to Express News correspondent in an exclusive interview, the 54-year-old said that his contributions to Pakistan cricket should be also be recognised.

"I have been coming to Pakistan regularly for the past few years as a cricket commentator. I have always supported Pakistan as a cricketing nation,” Morrison said. "It is a good decision by Pakistan government to reward Darren Sammy with Pakistan’s highest civilian award and honorary citizenship. However, my contributions to Pakistan should also be considered.”

Earlier today, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) through its Twitter account announced that Peshawar Zalmi captain Darren Sammy will receive the highest civilian award, Nishan-e-Pakistan, and honourary citizenship of Pakistan on March 23 for his invaluable contribution to cricket in Pakistan.

Former pacer played 48 Test matches and 96 One-day Internationals for New Zealand.
